Die farbe
Great crossover here of two Swiss greats. This is the catalogue for a 1944 Zurich art exhibition by painter Johannes Itten - Johannes Itten: Die Farbe - with book cover designed by Max Bill. “Die Farbe” is German for “colour.” From 1919 to 1922, Itten taught at the Bauhaus, developing the innovative “preliminary course” which was to teach students the basics of material characteristics, composition, and colour.
